Updates
Registrations
Please remember that the final deadline for registering is midnight January 22 , 2010, so there is still time to get on the trip. Currently the enrollment is at 281. The more students that go means the more teachers that can go to chaperone. You can still register for just the $99 fee, but you must be paid in full by February 24. If you need a new registration packet, we still have a few here in the office.
Financial Aid
Over the next few weeks we will be handing out the second round of aid money. This is money that will be coming from outside sources and/or the four teams to students who did not receive one of the scholarships given out last month. If you have questions about this, please call your child’s team leader.
Fund Raising Activities
Our parent group has now completed two major activities. Both went very well with over 200 students actively participating. There are several students who have already earned enough money to pay for their whole trip. Currently there are no plans for any other activities. Candle sale and pizza sale money will be sent to World Strides this month and then be posted to all accounts.
Over Paid Accounts
If your student’s account is now overpaid due to fund raising, financial aid, etc., the overpaid amount will be refunded to you. This generally happens a couple of months before the trip so that the money can be used to buy items for the trip and/or be your student’s spending money.
Walking
Now would be a great time to have your student start a walking program to be in shape when we leave on the trip. It would be even better if a parent joined them as an extra motivating factor.
