October Updates
Registration
We currently have 204 students registered for the trip. Yes, this is well behind our normal number at this point, but I’m sure there are many circumstances that have people waiting a little longer to get signed up. Do not forget that the fall deadline is October 30. The more we get signed up by then, the more scholarships we will receive in December to give out to the students.
Payments
You may choose to pay the entire amount when you get your first statement or you may choose to make monthly payments provided you are paid in full by February 24, 2010.. There is NO extra fee for our school to do the installments. If your statement says to add $6.00 per month to your payment, it was a misprint and that is NOT true for Northmont. If you have made a payment and did include the $6.00, it will be credited to your child’s account.
All payments go to World Strides. Do not bring or send any money or checks to the school. This only slows the process as we will return it to you.
Fund Raising Money
At this point I’m hearing that the candle sale went quite well. The money your child earns from the candle sale will be sent to World Strides in November as soon as matters are wrapped up with the candle company. The money will be credited to each student’s account based on the amount each student cleared. Remember that your student must be registered in order for us to send the money for their account. If your child earned enough to cover your first and/or other payments, you should do nothing right now. This was personally cleared by myself with both of our account reps at the company.
Payment calls
I’ve had a call or two saying that World Strides is making calls about slow payments. World Strides has not made any calls to parents at this point. I was assured as in the past that no calls will be made until December. At that time calls will only be made to people who have not made any payment or fund raising money received since the original registration fee was sent.
